Designed to water Extensive Green Roofs on commercial projects, the Green Roof Watering Kit is ideal for watering sedum and wildflower roofs on office, warehouse, factory and school roofs.

The watering kit includes dripline to fit to the sedum blanket and a controller for automated watering. The system includes a 200l break tank to comply with the Water Regulations and enough dripline to water 200m2 on a sloping roof or 100m2 on a flat roof.

Extensive green roofs using sedum blankets are a popular method of disguising office, school and warehouse buildings and also provide an area for wildlife such as birds and butterflies to thrive, away from humans. Green roof systems also attenuate rainwater, slowing the rate at which heavy rainfall enters the drainage system.

Sedum blankets are very thin and light, so dry out quickly. Although Sedums are drought tolerant, they will suffer during dry spells. If the blanket becomes very dry, it may also lift off the roof in strong winds. An automated watering system will water the roof regularly, ensuring the planting on the matting thrives.

Green Roof Watering Package Details

The packages use a sophisticated pressure compensated commercial quality drip watering line with drippers every 30cm to gently water the roof area. Drip lines run across the roof slope and are spaced either 50cm apart on flat roofs or 100cm apart on sloping roofs. The dripline can be placed under the sedum mat or clipped to the top of the mat. The package includes a category AB break tank and pipework to bring the water to the roof along with a controller to automate the watering. There is the option of wi-fi control of the system.

Initially the system should be operated daily until the sedum mat is established, then weekly during the watering season.
