These Italian made professional brass hose connectors are designed to be compatible with Hozelock and Gardena type hose fittings, but as they are manufactured from precision engineered brass are much stronger and more durable. Unlike plastic hose connectors, these brass hose fittings won’t blow off.
As the hose connector snaps tightly onto the tap connector, leakages are eliminated and the hose will not blow out of the fitting. This is due to their stainless steel ball bearings, which lock onto the tap connector, and the nylon teeth, which dig into the outer wall of the hose for maximum grip.
The brass outer compression ring is made from nylon which allows more ‘bite’ than its plastic equivalent. The inner core of the hose connector is manufactured from limescale resistant material to reduce problems in hard water areas.
The inner core of the connector is designed to discourage the build-up of limescale, but if you live in a hard water area, a regular spray with WD-40 will keep the mechanism lubricated and the thrust balls moving smoothly.
Sometimes these types of hose connectors are knows as hose quick connectors or quick release fittings, although these terms can also be applied to a variety of other fittings in the oil, gas and air industries that are quick and easy to decouple.
The brass tap connector is also much, much stronger than plastic snap-on fittings. This ensures that tugs on the hose don’t shear the fitting off the tap. A thick washer on the inside of the tap connector ensures a leak-free connection to the tap – even under high levels of pressure.
