Product details
1″ (25mm) Tricoflex professional hose. Top quality multi-layer hose provides flexibility and durability, with built-in kink resistance. Bright yellow to reduce trip hazards in commercial situations. Manufactured by Tricoflex in the Champagne region of France, Tricoflex is regarded as the best quality hose for commercial horticulture and is found in garden centres, nurseries, market gardens, farms, vegetable growers and on construction sites. The 25mm Tricoflex hose uses the company’s Non-torsion technology for superior performance.
Why choose a 25mm hose pipe?
A 25mm (1″) hose pipe has a considerably larger internal bore than standard 12.5mm or professional 19mm hose. This allows significantly higher water flows to pass through the hose while reducing friction and pressure loss, particularly over long hose runs.
For this reason, 25mm hose is commonly used for professional and commercial watering applications including sports pitches, equestrian arenas, golf courses, nurseries, farms and large landscape sites. It is particularly useful when supplying high-flow sprinklers, travelling sprinklers and other watering equipment where maintaining water pressure and flow is important.
| Hose size | Best suited to | Typical applications |
|---|---|---|
| 12.5mm / 1/2″ | Shorter runs and lighter handling | Domestic gardens and general watering |
| 19mm / 3/4″ | Longer runs and higher water flow | Nurseries, landscaping, farms and sprinklers |
| 25mm / 1″ | Very high-flow applications | Sports pitches, equestrian sites and large sprinklers |
Tricoflex hose construction
The multi-layer design, made of woven fibre and a double core layer, Tricoflex is highly flexible for easy handling, with excellent resistance to repeated bending, crushing and pulling. In addition, the lining is extremely smooth, maintaining even flow through the hose. Especially thick and made of high quality materials, Tricoflex offers excellent ageing resistance with superb preservation of flexibility. Its exterior yellow PVC covering gives it good protection against abrasion and UV. The yellow covering also promotes safe use as it can easily be seen by customers and contractors.
Benefits of 25mm (1″) hose
25mm diameter Tricoflex hose can handle much higher flows than 19mm (3/4″) commercial hose. This results in greatly reduced pressure losses on longer runs. 25mm (1″) hose is the standard size hose used in high flow situations such as football pitch watering, equestrian damping down and golf club temporary sprinklers. The hose can be mounted on a hose reel for portability and can be used with travelling sprinklers and reel irrigators. Tricoflex can be connected using either Geka style hose connectors or hose union fittings for permanent threaded connections.

Frequently asked questions
What is 25mm hose used for?
25mm (1″) hose is designed for applications where a high water flow is required, particularly over longer distances. It is commonly used for sports pitch watering, equestrian arenas, nurseries, farms, landscaping and other professional watering applications. The larger bore helps reduce pressure loss and makes it suitable for supplying high-flow sprinklers and travelling irrigators.
What is the advantage of 25mm hose over 19mm hose?
The main advantage of 25mm hose is its ability to carry a greater volume of water with less pressure loss. This is particularly important on long hose runs or when supplying sprinklers that require a high flow rate. A 19mm hose is easier to handle and is suitable for many professional watering applications, while 25mm hose is generally preferred where maximum water flow is the priority.
What fittings fit 25mm Tricoflex hose?
25mm Tricoflex hose requires fittings designed for 25mm (1″) internal diameter hose. Geka-type hose couplings are commonly used for professional applications because they provide a secure connection and allow hoses, sprinklers and other equipment to be connected and disconnected quickly.
For a more permanent connection Brass Hose Couplings can be used, which tread onto valves or taps.
Can 25mm Tricoflex hose be used on a hose reel or trolley?
Yes. 25mm Tricoflex hose can be stored on a suitable heavy-duty hose reel or trolley designed to accommodate 25mm hose. Bear in mind that 25mm hose is heavier and bulkier than standard garden hose, particularly in longer lengths, so it is important to choose a reel or trolley with sufficient capacity.
Is 25mm hose suitable for travelling sprinklers?
Yes. 25mm hose is particularly well suited to travelling sprinklers and other high-flow watering equipment. Its larger internal diameter reduces friction losses, helping maintain water flow and pressure over longer hose runs. This can be especially useful when watering sports pitches, paddocks, equestrian arenas and other large areas.
Which length of 25mm hose should I choose?
Choose a hose length that comfortably reaches from your water supply to the furthest point you need to water. Tricoflex 25mm hose is available in 25m, 50m and 100m lengths. For long runs, the larger 25mm bore helps minimise pressure loss, although the available flow and pressure from your water supply should also be considered when selecting watering equipment.
Can Tricoflex hose be left outside?
Tricoflex hose is manufactured for professional use and has good resistance to weathering, abrasion and UV exposure. However, storing the hose correctly when it is not in use will help maximise its working life. Where possible, drain the hose and store it on a reel or trolley away from prolonged exposure to extreme weather, particularly during the winter.
