A high quality heavy duty pressure compensating commercial drip irrigation pipe with sophisticated emitter structure with 1.6l/h output and thick 1.2mm pipe wall. Permadrip pro is designed for commercial landscape irrigation projects such as hedge screens and planted beds and border and can also be used in private domestic gardens for watering flower beds and shrub borders.

For herbaceous borders and flower beds the drip irrigation hose is laid on the border or flower bed in parallel lines 0.5m (just under 2 feet) apart – so a 1.5m deep bed would have 3 lines. At one end, the individual dripline runs are all connected to a common water inlet point. At the other end, each run of drip line is capped off with a flushable end stop. The water supply can be either permanently connected to the bed or a hose can be connected temporarily to water.
Unlike lightweight seasonal drip hose, Permadrip Pro is manufactured with a heavy-duty 1.2mm pipe wall. This makes it suitable for permanent garden and commercial landscape installations where resistance to handling, sunlight and accidental damage is important. The pipework is UV resistant and designed for multi-year installation.
When the drip watering pipe is operating, water will slowly drip from each outlet, making it one of the most water efficient irrigation methods available. On the surface the soil will be mainly dry, reducing evaporation and weed growth. Below the surface of the border or flower bed, the water will travel laterally, ensuring there is always water near to each individual plant. In addition, the plant’s root system will actively find the water in the drip irrigation pipe.
Designed for surface or subsurface use of landscaped beds, herbaceous borders and flower beds in commercial landscape settings and private gardens. Drip watering nozzles are pressure compensated to ensure uniform output and are self flushing to reduce blockages. In addition the dripper emitters are anti – siphon for underground installations.

How to install Permadrip Pro Dripline

- Lay the dripline along hedges or in parallel lines across planted borders.
- Space border runs approximately 50cm apart.
- Connect each run to a suitable supply pipe or inlet manifold.
- Cap each line with a flushable stop end.
- Secure the dripline using anchorage pegs.
- Flush the system before final operation.
Dripline use is normally allowed during a hosepipe ban if the system is operated with a timer – check with you local provider.

Frequently asked questions
How far apart should dripline runs be?
For planted borders and flower beds 0.5m spaced dripline in normally laid 50cm – 60cm apart in parallel lines. On hedge lines, 30cm spaced dripline is normally laid in the root zone at the base of one side of the hedge.
What pressure does Permadrip Pro require?
The standard working pressure is between 0.8-3.5 bar. If the inlet pressure exceeds 3.5 bar, fit a pressure regulator.
How much water does each dripper deliver?
Each dripper is regulated to an output of 1.6 l/h – pressure compensation within the nozzle structure ensures that the output remains the same even if the pressure varies – this means that the first dripper and the last dripper have exactly the same output. The pressure compensating design allows long run lengths and larger beds to be watered evenly.
Can dripline be used during a hosepipe ban?
When a hosepipe ban (technically a Temporary Usage Ban or TUB) is imposed, the Water Company can provide exceptions. Although it is always important to double-check, generally the Water Company will allow drip systems to continue to run provided they are operated on a timer and have a pressure regulator. Each nozzle in Permadrip Pro is pressure regulated, but an external pressure regulator can be added to the start of the system.
Drip irrigation is highly water efficient, so Water Companies know that long term, water will be saved if all customers used drip irrigation for watering, so allowing their use during hosepipe bans promotes long term water efficiency.
Why does the surface of the watered bed look dry?
Drip irrigation systems are designed to water the root-zone while keeping the soil surface dry. When the dripline is operating there will only be a wet patch immediately under the dripper. However, when the water enters the soil, capillary attraction will ensure the water moves laterally. In addition, the plant root system will seek out the water in the bed.
Although the surface of the bed will be dry (reducing weed growth) below the surface the soil will be damp.
